Flipped Learning

Flipped learning is actually shown to be a tool in inclusive learning. For examples, many students who may not rush to grab equipment in a classroom will utilize time with equipment at home to become familiar with it. Online instruction videos that I created myself connect with students in a way that a generic online tutorial would not, but allows students to learn at the times that they learn best, to use hearing tools, translation tools, and more. I found, by the number of views, that students would re-watch and share the tutorials, and even use them later in their careers as a refresher.

Student Work

A variety of styles and genres, students have won prizes within nationally recognized film festivals — not just in the student category, but in the general competition. They have gone on to study at UCLA, and some are now themselves teaching video production. But even for students whose passion is not media production, coming up with their own creative concept and executing it changes their life for the better.

Student XR Work

Students were asked to make VR worlds in Spatial.io, which were accessible via phone, computer, or with VR headset. In this work, the student created a scary haunted-house with a maze-like structure.
